Don't wait for the grinding
Brakes wear a little every day. Catch it early and it's usually just pads. Wait too long and you're paying for rotors and calipers too.
Squealing or grinding
A high squeal means the pads are getting thin. Grinding means metal on metal.
Soft or spongy pedal
The pedal sinks lower than it used to, or you have to push harder to stop.
Shaking when you brake
A pulsing pedal or shaking wheel usually points to warped rotors.
Warning light on
The brake or ABS light on your dash is worth checking the same week.

What Aurora drivers say
"They texted me photos of my worn pads before touching anything, and the final bill matched the quote to the dollar."
"Dropped the car off at 8, it was done by lunch. Clear explanation, no upsell."
"The dealer wanted rotors too. Ridgeline showed me mine were fine and just did the pads."
How do I know if I need new brakes?
Squealing, grinding, a soft pedal, shaking when you stop, or a warning light are the common signs. If you are not sure, the inspection is free and takes about 20 minutes.
How long does a brake job take?
Most pad replacements take about an hour per axle, and pads with rotors take about an hour and a half. Most cars are done the same day.
Do I always need new rotors?
No. We measure your rotors and only recommend replacing them if they are below spec or warped. You will see the measurements and photos before deciding.
What brake parts do you use?
Quality ceramic pads and rotors that meet or beat the original spec. We are happy to quote factory parts if you prefer them.
Is it safe to drive with squeaky brakes?
Usually for a short time, but squealing means the pads are getting thin. Waiting until it grinds can damage the rotors and double the cost, so get them checked soon.
Grinding brakes cost more every mile.
